Yesterday, we celebrated Hunger Action Day by lighting the town orange! An enormous thank you to the City of Sacramento for taking action and raising awareness about hunger in our region by turning the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center and Memorial Auditorium orange.

Today is Hunger Action Day, a day where food banks across the country focus our efforts on spreading awareness about food insecurity and inspiring others to take action against hunger. Here at SFBFS, our staff members raised awareness by wearing orange, the dedicated color of hunger fighters!

A huge thank you to Bank of America for generously providing us with the funds to invest in four new electric pallet jacks! We're moving 3.25 million pounds of food out of our distribution center every month, so these pallet jacks will really help to improve our efficiency and better serve our partner agencies and our community members in need. - Lori Rianda

Hunger Action Month is the perfect time for us to express our gratitude to an amazing group of people taking action year-round against hunger: our network of 125 partner agencies! Our partner agencies include food pantries, churches, nonprofits, schools, colleges, senior centers and more. They're vital distribution sites where Sacramentans experiencing hunger can receive much-needed support.
