This past Saturday, the Early Learning Department hosted its inaugural Family Fun & Playfest—a day dedicated to raising awareness about early learning and care programs in Sacramento County. Families explored a variety of community resources designed to support their well-being while enjoying engaging, play-based learning experiences. A special thank you to SMUD, Safetyville USA, and all our partners for providing interactive activities that showcased the power of play in early childhood development. The Sacramento County UPK Mixed Delivery Workgroup is excited to host Family Fun & PlayFest, the family choice event, to build awareness of the various early learning and care programs and community resources available to Sac County families. The Workgroup prepared backpacks to give away to children at the event. The Family Fun & PlayFest will be held at Safetyville USA next Saturday, February 22nd. Submit a proposal for our 2025 Early Learning: At the?Heart?of It?All?conference! ? Our event will take place Saturday, April 5, 2025 and will highlight "Belonging for All, from the Beginning."?The event will focus on practices in early childhood education that value diversity and promote inclusiveness ensuring that all children regardless of their background, abilities, or learning needs, have equal educational opportunities. We encourage you to submit a proposal that aligns with the theme and objectives of our conference and that speaks to a wide diversity of participants reflective of Sacramento County. We strongly encourage submissions focused on promising practices serving infants and toddlers. ? Sessions are 90 minutes in length. Presenter?proposals must be received by 5pm on January 16, 2025. If you are interested in presenting at the conference, click the link below to submit your?proposal. Please share this with any colleagues you believe may be interested.
SCOE's FACE team had the opportunity to host Sacramento Educational Cable Consortium's quarterly Family Engagement Forum today. Representatives from school districts across Sacramento County come together to create this collaborative group.?The goal of the forum is to engage families so they can actively support their student’s learning and development in meaningful ways.
