A second shipment of ~1,000 doses of Sabin's #Marburg vaccine candidate arrived in Kigali today, reinforcing our ongoing support of Rwanda's Ministry of Health in their efforts to contain the #MarburgVirus outbreak. This follows an initial delivery of 700 doses last Saturday, just 9 days after the outbreak was declared. Rwanda has already begun vaccinating frontline workers, starting with health care providers, in a Phase 2 rapid response open-label study. The trial, sponsored by Rwanda Biomedical Centre, follows the clinical protocol that was reviewed and approved by Rwandan ethics and regulatory authorities. To date, 620 vaccine doses have been administered. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eKKNhw3X REITHERA Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) #MarburgOutbreak

A recent study funded by our Social and Behavioral Research Grants program found that in #Kenya, higher trust in health workers among mothers is a crucial factor when it comes to children receiving their vaccinations on time and overcoming vaccine hesitancy. Key factors for building trust include respect, providing them clear explanations, and involving them in vaccination decisions. More on our findings ?? https://lnkd.in/g4XR_Agb #VaccinesWork

“Women’s health is not only gynecological health; it is much more and requires holistic attention. The need for comprehensive research on women’s health is greater than ever, not only in Saudi Arabia but globally." Dr. Fatimah S. Alhamlan, an oncovirus researcher, was concerned about the mortality rate from #CervicalCancer in Saudi Arabia, and co-founded Rofaida Women's Health Organization to create a nurturing hub where women could come together to discuss health issues openly and get needed support. In just eight years, the group has helped launch a national #HPV vaccination program, created a podcast and informational webinars, and hosts a successful annual Women's Health Advocacy Forum to present evidence for a range of women's health and well-being programs in the country.
