We don’t just power communities—we partner with them. By listening and collaborating, we’re creating lasting change with Sabathani Community Center. From cutting energy costs in half with a new geothermal system to launching an Environmental Sustainability Academy that builds careers, our partnership is making a lasting difference. The aging boilers at Sabathani, named Thelma and Louise, incur approximately $28,000 in energy expenses each month. Through the Resilient Minneapolis initiative, we are collaborating with Sabathani to install rooftop solar panels and a large energy storage battery aimed at lowering these costs. Together, we’re building a sustainable future.

  • ?? Big News! ?? We're thrilled to announce $6 million in new funding from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which will allow us to fully complete our geothermal heating and cooling project. This project is also made possible by the recent $6 million in Renewable Development Account appropriations from the Minnesota Legislature. Thanks to our bill sponsors, Rep. Athena Hollins and Sen. • Big news!?Sabathani Community Center just recently received $6.4M in funding from the State of Minnesota!?This funding will power our innovative Community Energy Project, with $6 million for a district energy geothermal system and $400K for our Workforce Development Training Center. These projects will cut pollution, reduce high energy costs, and create sustainable jobs in the green economy. Huge thanks to Senator Tou Xiong and Representative Athena Hollins, and all our partners for making this possible. We have more work to do to get our geothermal system fully funded, but this is a huge step forward and allows us to phase our new geothermal system. We're excited to keep pushing forward to build a greener, more prosperous future!?
