His historic appointment is incredibly well-deserved and we wish him continued success in this next chapter of public service.
Today, the United States Senate confirmed Sharad Desai to the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. Notably, Mr. Desai holds the distinction of being the first South Asian U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Arizona. SABA North America wholeheartedly applauds this historic appointment. Since 2023, Mr. Desai has been serving as Vice President and General Counsel for Honeywell International’s Integrated Supply Chain and Information Technology divisions in Phoenix, Arizona. His legal career has been marked by significant achievements, starting as an associate attorney at Osborn Maledon, P.A., in Phoenix, Arizona, from 2007 to 2015. Subsequently, he rose through the ranks and became a partner at the same firm. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Desai honed his skills as a law clerk for Justice Rebecca White Berch on the Arizona Supreme Court from 2006 to 2007. He then pursued his legal education, earning his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2006 and his B.A. and B.S. from the University of Arizona in 2003. A dedicated member of the South Asian Bar Association of Arizona, Mr. Desai has earned a reputation for his expertise and commitment to the legal community in Arizona. With over 17 years of experience spanning both federal and state courts, Mr. Desai has consistently demonstrated his ability to engage in high-level legal analysis, writing, and oral communications.
