“We burned $200K+ on a customized CPQ and it isn’t even implemented yet.” In the last 3 months, we've had 5 financial leaders tell us the same story: A sales rep sold them a custom CPQ, and they are in the “discovery” stage months later. Still leaving teams scrambling on how to manage existing systems and manual day-to-day tasks. Everyone's praising CPQ and similar customized point solutions on LinkedIn. Yet in reality, they're all asking the same question: "Am I the only one who’s struggling with this?" Here's what's actually happening: Sales strategies are turning these custom point solutions into costly consulting engagements, charging upwards of $500K for tailored solution setups that companies can't maintain without them. Most enterprises can afford this amount, but this is out-of-reach for start-ups and SMBs. And what’s even more, most companies don’t need a “complex” CPQ solution, they just need a renewals lifecycle and revenue management solution.
