If you're selling your SaaS company, the first thought that probably runs through your mind is to sell to the highest bidder. But what if that is not the ultimate choice? What else is there? The first episode of season 5 of saas.unbound is with Alexis Grant, the founder of They Got Acquired where we go through the acquisition processes, different types of acquirers, and exit strategies. We also chat about growth opportunities businesses get with acquisitions, how to go through the transition period, and why (can't stress this enough) cultural alignment might be one of the most important points to consider before selling. Check out the links in the comments and let us know what you think!

“So far, we’ve never acquired a company with a female founder and that’s got to change.” Women's Day Eve feels like the right time to share this ???? Let’s face it, we all know the tech industry is male-dominated. Women accounted for only 13.2% of all startup founders in 2023, according to Carta. SaaS founders? Even less. In 2023, with the first-ever study into exits, we found out that less than 1% of all businesses that sold a majority stake in the 10-year period were female-led. LESS THAN 1%! This is an absolutely astonishing statistic. We certainly hope that change is building. But we also want to contribute to that change, we want to lead it, and take conscious steps toward speaking to more female leaders, hiring more women into the leadership team, and also making sure we create equal opportunities for both male- and female-led businesses to be acquired on equal terms. We always say that we encourage founders to talk to founders/CEOs of companies we’ve already acquired to make sure they understand what saas.group is about and find the best fit. Now, we have incredible leaders who also happen to be badass, visionary women whom you can talk to about being hired with us or selling your company to saas.group. Reach out to: Lisa Rentrop Shannon V.???? Anita Christofides??? Helena Rebane? Malgorzata Polubinska ? or, frankly, any other woman from saas.group ?????? We’d also love to talk to those who work on making this happen about creating opportunities and initiatives to get more attention to the problem and give ways to change.?
