The S3 team recently enjoyed a day of fun during our Fall/Halloween celebration. We had a catered lunch, dressed up in our favorite costumes and each department worked together to decorate a pumpkin. Prizes for best costume and department pumpkin were also given out. Embracing a rich company culture is essential at S3. So, taking a moment to pause production and spend quality time together was time very well spent! Thanks to S3 leadership for encouraging days like this!

Congratulations, Rod!
Last night, I had the incredible honor of receiving the inaugural Darrell S. Freeman Sr. Award, an award created to recognize founders and leaders of color who embody Darrell’s spirit of giving back, mentoring, and entrepreneurial excellence. Darrell was more than a mentor to me—he was a friend, a brother, and someone whose wisdom and guidance changed my life forever. To be named the first recipient of this award, in his name, is both humbling and overwhelming. Statistically, I had only a 4% chance of being where I am today, coming from a background of poverty and limited opportunity. But I didn’t get here alone. Darrell’s influence, belief in me, and commitment to lifting others made all the difference. His legacy is a reminder that success is not just about individual achievement; it’s about reaching back to help others rise, no matter where they started. A huge congratulations to all the finalists and winners! And a special shout-out to my friends Dr. Turner Nashe, Jr. and Michael Burcham on their well-deserved induction into the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame. Here’s to continuing Darrell’s legacy by mentoring and giving back - as we say at S3 “nothing shall be impossible”

Congratulations to Will Owens who is our October Employee of the Month! In Will’s role as a sorter, he does a great job working in a fast-paced environment to safely and efficiently sort materials in the warehouse. He also pitches in to help with tasks in other departments such as processing laptops, monitors and TVs. Please join the S3 team in donating essential items to residents in Western North Carolina and East Tennessee who were affected by Hurricane Helene. We will be collecting items starting this Saturday, Oct. 5 at our headquarters in Springfield, Tenn. We are collecting: bottled water, non-perishable food items, diapers, wipes, formula, contractor size trash bags, first aid supplies, feminine hygiene products, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, paper towels, bleach, shovels, brooms, gloves, coolers, flashlights and batteries. Items can be dropped off during the following days and times at 901 Central Ave West, Springfield, TN 37172. Saturday, October 5th: 8a - 12p? Mon – Fri, October 7th - 11th: 7a - 6p? Saturday, October 12th: 8a - 12p One of S3’s core values is “Community,” and we are eager to support those who are experiencing devastation. Congrats to our CEO Rod McDaniel for being named to the 2024 Nashville Business Journal list of Most Admired CEOs. We couldn't be prouder of our organization's leader, who has also received this honor in the past. According to the NBJ, nominations for this award are accepted from the public, and nominees are "grouped into categories based on their company size and type. Then they are asked to vote on one another. Those with the highest scores after voting are this year's Most Admired CEOs."
