I had the wonderful opportunity to meet up with several amazing engineers at S. A. Miro, Inc. last week to discuss SidePlate Connection Designs! I was very excited to stop by because, in all of my presentations, I reference the success that they had using SidePlate on the iconic Denver Health Outpatient Medical Center. (I suggest taking a look at pictures on Google. The building spans across 7th Ave). I'm looking forward to more steel moment frames with this team!

Please consider donating to help Brad's family.
Brad Buhler was the lead structural engineer for many prominent projects in Colorado. I regret sharing that he lost his long battle with MS last week. Here’s the obituary for Bradley John Buhler (Brad): Bradley John Buhler, lovingly known as Brad, passed away on January 23, 2025. Born on November 24, 1965, in Brooklyn Center, MN, Brad grew up with a deep appreciation for creating, building, and dreaming of adventure. His family later moved to Colorado Springs, CO, when his father, Floyd, opened a Honeywell branch there, and Colorado became the place Brad called home. Brad attended the University of Colorado Boulder, earning a degree in Architectural/Structural Engineering, a path inspired by his childhood passion for making model cars and building things. Whether he was dreaming of being a truck driver, a cowboy, or an engineer, Brad always approached life with curiosity, determination, and joy. He began his career at SA Miro in 1989, where he poured his heart into his work with passion and excellence until his retirement in 2015. Brad was a man who found his peace in the great outdoors. Whether riding motorcycles and ATVs or fishing with a rod in hand, nature was where his soul felt free. He cherished annual trips to Pitkin and his occasional fishing trips to Canada, creating lifelong memories with his father, Floyd; his brother, Jason; and dear friends Ron, Fred (his “brother from another mother”), and Scott. Brad is survived by his loving wife, Gail; his two sons, Jake (25) and Ben (21), who were his pride and joy; his father, Floyd (87); and his brother, Jason (54). He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace, whose love shaped much of who he was. Brad's love for life, his adventurous spirit, and his unyielding devotion to his family will be forever remembered. Although progressive MS gradually took hold of his body in recent years, Brad never let it diminish his love for those around him or his passion for life. Today, we celebrate the man he was—a husband, a father, a son, a brother, and a friend whose memory will live on in all who had the privilege to know him. Brad, your family and friends will miss you deeply. May you find eternal peace in the wide-open spaces of heaven, with endless roads to explore and tranquil waters to fish. Celebration of Life Details: Saturday, February 1, 2025 – 9:30 a.m Waterstone Community Church – 5890 S. Alkire St., Littleton, CO 80127 In honor of Brad, please dress in casual, outdoorsy/western wear. Donations can be made at: https://gofund.me/e428b8e7
