Meet S-RM’s women in cyber. Introducing Katarina Zotovic in four questions. Tell us about you - what's your role at S-RM and where are you based? I'm a Senior Analyst on our Digital Forensics team and I am based in London! I work on preserving and analysing digital evidence for various types of civil and criminal investigations, such as whistleblowing, fraud, and commercial disputes. What advice would you give to other women looking to break into cybersecurity? Stay curious, take initiative to build your knowledge, and seek mentorship from those who have navigated the field. And, most importantly, advocate for yourself. A little bit of confidence and persistence will open doors, and the right support network will help you walk through them. Who has inspired you in your career? Virginia Romero (VG) has been a tremendous source of inspiration since I began my career in cybersecurity. She has been a constant voice of encouragement and support for myself and other women in S-RM's cyber team, leading by example through her leadership in casework and various initiatives within S-RM. I would also be remiss to not mention my manager, Ryan Shields, who has inspired me and empowered me in my role since the day I joined S-RM. How have you built confidence in a field where women are still underrepresented? My journey has been shaped both by personal effort and the support of those around me. I continuously strive to expand my expertise and refine the quality of my work, but just as importantly, I've been fortunate to have colleagues - both women and men - who encourage my growth and leadership every step of the way. #womenincyber #cybersecurity #digitalforensics #DFIR #Disputes #Investigations

S-RM's Steve Ross caught up with ASSEMBLY Magazine to discuss the findings from our 2025 Cyber Incidents Insights Report. Manufacturing is a sector where we've seen an increase in cyber attacks over the past year and Steve outlines reasons why that is the case. "One reason is that threat actors have realised the costliness of a business interruption for a manufacturing organization goes beyond financial. There's reputational damage if they can't put product on the shelves and there's issues with downstream supply chain effects. So when a threat actor shuts down business operations for a manufacturing company they've really paralyzed them entirely...and that space (for threat actors) is becoming more competitive." Meet S-RM’s women in cyber. Introducing Lori Murphy in four questions Tell us about you - what's your role at S-RM and where are you based? My role is Senior Analyst on the US Incident Response Team and I am based out of Phoenix, Arizona. What advice would you give to other women looking to break into cybersecurity? You deserve to be here and are worthy. Be open to immersing yourself in learning, failing, feeling uncomfortable, getting back up, and pushing forward. Lean on other women, organizations, and allies for mentorship and support on your journey. Who has inspired you in your career? I’ve been inspired by the mission of non-profit organization Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) whose mission is to advance and upskill women to meet the challenges of the expanding cyber threat landscape. As a member, I have had invaluable experiences and mentors which paved the way for my career pivot into cybersecurity. How have you built confidence in a field where women are still underrepresented? I’ve built confidence by taking on challenges outside of my comfort zone, trusting what I know, owning my wins and setbacks, and most importantly believing that I belong here. I’m excited to be a small part of moving the needle where women make up approximately 24% of the industry. #womenincyber #cybersecurity #cyberincidentresponse #incidentresponse #IR #US
