S&D Builders based in Plymouth South west, We cover all aspects in Brickwork, blockwork, stonework, extensions, new builds and patios. Sam and Dale both know each other from their early days doing their apprenticeships with the same company REB (Ray Elliot). Since they’ve qualified, both have gone on to work for various companies during their careers. Gaining experience and valuable knowledge. Sam Buller and Dale Claffey joined together in late 2019 and formed S&D Builders the following year. Sam and Dale have both worked starting on landscaping/patio projects. The journey has now seen them slowly progress towards site work and are now dipping their toes into site/commercial work. They have attracted a small number of bricklayers to join the S&D Journey and are always looking for more to join the team. Drive and ambition for future gains from both business partners is what keeps the two going day in and day out. There will be lessons to learn on the way. But the experience will prove valuable in the long term ambitions for the company.

Exciting progress happening at Skypark! Here's the latest: ?? Block A: Installation of windows and doors is complete, with walls now fully in place, showcasing a sleek, smart new finish thanks to the advanced cladding. ??? Block B: The new concrete slab has been laid, and walls are steadily rising on half of the block. ?? Block C: Preparations are underway for the base to be poured, with our shiny new dedicated gym awaiting it's roof. ?? Additionally, the new road to the new business park has been laid. We are thrilled with the progress and look forward to sharing further updates as Skypark continues to take shape.

Block A1 completed for ONYX Business Parks in Exeter. The front brickwork was finished yesterday after me and Dale did a mammoth shift Friday on the three sides. This is now ready for the cladders to continue. We shall be returning next Wednesday to start the other Block. Drop me a message if you’re interested in us doing some building work for you. Extremely excited to start a new job for ONYX Business Parks working on the Sky Park 2 project in Exeter. Firstly we are going to be doing the brickwork package building 225mm high Staffordshire blue course around the perimeter externally. (every bricklayers dream brick ?? which we loaded out yesterday around Block A, ready for me and Dale Claffey to build today. Looking forward to showing the Oynx team what S&D are about. And at a later date we will be doing 9” block facework running in between steels. Perfect as we will have a roof over our head just incase that rain starts to come through. More pictures to follow as we progress throughout the project doing the other blocks. Another contract secured. It’s been a journey for me and Dale to date to say the least. Always great to receive positive feedback for your efforts. It’s never fun taking over other `bricklayers’ efforts on a job. It’s been a labour of love the last 6 weeks for the team of varying sizes throughout. This Brick on edge consisting of a 100mm piece and a 160mm piece took 2 days in total to complete with 230 cuts being done on the disc cutter to ensure a crisp perp line was the final piece to the puzzle ?? ? The project was around 6 weeks in total - consisting of topping off existing walls, repairing/rebuilding poorly built brickwork in many places then finally getting to build a fresh wall towards the end of the project.
