Every October, you likely see a wealth of information about breast cancer. And that is a good thing. Awareness surrounding breast cancer is incredibly important as early detection, often through screening, can catch the disease when it is most treatable. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), breast cancer is the most common cancer in American women, except for skin cancers. The average risk of a woman in the U.S. developing breast cancer sometime in her life is about 12%, or a 1 in 8 chance. The chance that a woman will die from breast cancer is about 2.6%, or a 1 in 38 chance. The American Cancer Society recommends annual screening mammograms for women starting at age 40. To that end, we implore women aged 40 or those with a family history of breast cancer to contact your Ryan Health provider to schedule your appointment today. #RyanHealth #RyanHealthMammograms #BreastCancer #BreastCancerAwareness

Collaborative Care is a powerful approach to behavioral health integration that unites primary care and behavioral health clinicians for shared care plans, and CHC strategies for CoCM came into focus in sessions at #ACUConf’s Behavoral Health Leadership Forum held with the support of The Pew Charitable Trusts and Bloomberg Philanthropies. After a level setting with Dr. Virna Little of Concert Health and Zero Overdose, Rebecca Murow Klein and Clare McNutt, PA-C, MSHS, of Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute presented a groundbreaking report on challenges, opportunities, and recommendations for sustainable CoCM implementation at health centers. Lastly, Nathan Grajek, LLMSW of Grace Health, Sarah Bernes of the University of Michigan, and Rashanna Lynch, MD, FAAFP of Ryan Health shared lessons learned on CoCM integration and best practices in an interactive panel. Thank you to all who joined us in illuminating this crucial model for CHCs! #NHCW24
