I believe commercial real estate hit the floor in 2024. But those who adapted to the higher-for-longer interest rate environment—our new normal—and used the past year to play offense and position themselves to take advantage of the opportunities ahead should thrive in 2025. In my recent CNBC Squawk on the Street interview, I shared why I'm optimistic about commercial real estate, especially in New York City. The industry still faces $2+ trillion in maturing debt, most of which is coming due in the next three years. However, at RXR, we see this as a generational investment opportunity.
