The hospital held a ceremony in honor of Transgender Day of Remembrance. The event, sponsored by the PROUD Business Resource Group, featured a transgender speaker Bernie Wagenblast, and a candle lighting for all those who have lost their lives to violence from transphobia. What a great day for a Turkey delivery – all 100 of them! Thank you to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway who made yesterday’s turkey and food delivery at Food for Friends a huge success. In total, over 379lbs of food was donated to help make for a wonderful Thanksgiving for so many local families. Thank you for taking the time to support the community. #LetsBeHealthyTogether

Ryan Berg grew up in Cliffwood, NJ with not many resources available. He joined the Army as a senior in high school to help pay for his bachelor's degree and served as a medic in the airborne infantry from 2012-2016. Despite all of the jumps from airplanes and awesome gadgets that were at his disposal, the best part of the Army to him, was the people he had to pleasure of serving with, which makes him an ideal fit for a career in health care. After his honorable discharge, he completed his ASN at Brookdale Community College and his BSN at Southern New Hampshire University utilizing the GI Bill. He is now currently pursuing his Master’s of Science in Nursing through RWJBarnabas Health. Join us in thanking Ryan Berg this Veteran’s Day. #LetsBeHealthyTogether

Congratulations to Alisha Sharma, Occupational Therapist at Rahway, who received the STAR (Special Treatment at Rahway) Award for September 2024. An excerpt from her recommendation letter reads: “I would like to give special thanks to Alisha Sharma, my therapist who brought me back into action. I worked with Alisha for five months – she is an incredible therapist. She is also an extremely special and giving person.
