This week's #ProjectSpotlight features Cornerstone Clinic in Fredericksburg, Texas. This project involved relocating an existing practice from a two-story building to a streamlined, one-story floor plan. The goal was to consolidate core services into a cohesive space, including a unified waiting room, reception, and check-out area. This redesign improved efficiency, streamlined operations, and enhanced the overall patient experience by eliminating duplication of resources and creating a more seamless practice environment. The layout also includes a consulting room, doctor offices, exam/procedure rooms, lab space, Dexa/Sono room, nurse triage room, nurse’s station, breakroom, vaccine room, offices, conference room, restrooms, medical storage area, and support spaces. March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the achievements of women who have paved the way for future generations. Please join us in welcoming Kindall Shannon, AIA to the RVK team! Kindall, a graduate of Texas A&M University and Clemson University, brings expertise in architecture and interior design. She has experience in federal, aviation, residential, K-12 education projects, and non-profit work. We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to the great work ahead. Fun Facts about Kindall: What is one thing on your bucket list? Growing up my family traveled and explored different countries and cultures together. One of the last trips we took before I was married was to Iceland and I would love to bring my husband and two boys. I think with so many amazing geographical features and our love for nature, it would be amazing! What is your favorite place in the world? Our family home in Lake City, Colorado specifically over the Fourth of July. My grandparents bought the house when my mom was little, and my boys are now the fourth generation to enjoy it. We have family friends from all over the country that come together for a big “Lake City Family” Fourth of July potluck and it is one of my favorite things. We had a 100-year age gap from oldest to youngest in attendance last year! What is your hidden talent? Probably my love for “what if”-ing and “I could make that” mentality. I love to cook and craft, and my favorite times are the challenges when I think “What if we…” or “I bet I could make…” are the first response. Questions can come from my kids like making a “Rock Out Artic Fox” Halloween costume or when my husband sets up a mystery box and I play “Chopped” to make cooking dinner extra creative. This week’s RVK #ProjectSpotlight features Trinity University’s Multi-Sport Stadium Upgrades. The renovations focused on increasing seating capacity and enhancing functionality. The new steel and aluminum bleachers provide 1,100 seats, doubling the previous seating capacity of 550. The two-level press box includes spaces for media, game operations, and broadcasting, while the upper level features a Presidential Suite for VIPs and observation decks. Accessibility upgrades were also made to the restroom and concessions areas. These improvements aim to enhance safety, comfort, and the overall fan and VIP experience. These are some of my favorite spaces to photograph! One project that definitely had me shaking in my boots was the #Helipad at #UniversityHealth. It’s 11 stories up and was taken from the edge which has a horizontal fence around the perimeter as a safety precaution. To accommodate NorthRock Church's growth, RVK designed an 8,000-sf, two-story addition and enclosed the existing port-cochere. The design included a new foyer, a large multi-purpose room on the first floor, and classrooms and offices on the second floor for the congregation to enjoy.
