Our crew attended the ToolBank USA Summit at the end of February & we loved exploring Houston. We learned, we laughed, and more importantly, we were INSPIRED. The panel discussion on nonprofit-government collaboration was a highlight, with Amy Peck, Joshua Sanders, and Jeri Brooks each contributing unique and insightful perspectives on how ToolBanks can be powerful drivers of positive change. We lend tools & equipment to community-based organizations and volunteers.
关于我们
The Richmond Community ToolBank is a nonprofit tool lending program that provides fellow not-for-profit organizations with year-round access to an inventory of tools for use in volunteer projects and for facility and grounds maintenance. We provide tools to enhance the charitable sector’s capacity to serve, facilitating hands-on volunteerism in the greater Richmond area. The Richmond ToolBank maintains an 10,000 sq ft warehouse in Scott’s Addition and an inventory comprised of more than 200 different types of tools and equipment in volumes large enough to equip thousands of volunteers at a time. Access to ToolBank tools eliminates the need for agencies to incur the expense of purchasing, repairing, and storing tools, reducing the costs associated with service projects and allowing these agencies to focus more of their resources on their mission.

???? Giving back to the community, one build at a time! This February, we hosted Marand Builders, Inc. 3 picnic tables. We're thrilled to have donated picnic tables to local RVA Public Libraries. Families will be able to take a seat & enjoy reading a book together. These contributions will directly support their vital work in the community and free up resources for them to focus on their mission. A big thank you to all the volunteers who made this possible! #RVAToolBank #RichmondToolBank #BuildingChange #CommunitySupport #AllCityArtsClub #ShockoeHillBurialGrounds #RVA #dogood

"Tools for Change has allowed us to relaunch and continue to support our partner schools' extracurricular activities! Without access to the tools, supplies, and safety gear, we would be severely limited in supporting our partner schools in the manner in which they need.” ?? Just check out what Start 1 Spark accomplished with the help of 18 amazing volunteers at Falling Creek Middle School on January 20th! They built a movable throne, castle walls, and even cardboard swords for their "Game of Tiaras" performance! Since joining in 2023, Start 1 Spark has: ? Completed 5 community projects ? Empowered 40 volunteers ? Leveraged 160 tools valued at $5,589.54 ? $153.93 helped this member fuel creativity and keep the drama alive in our public schools!

“ToolBank allows us to run fundraising events with significantly lower overhead, resulting in higher event profit.” Alek let us know Boats and Brews was a HUGE success, and using event equipment from our 10,000 sq foot tool lending warehouse, Beyond Boundaries RVA provided an amazing experience for their attendees while maximizing their impact. We don't have any event photos, but we love that this organization gets folks out on the water and we're very much looking forward to summer adventures with one of our favorite organizations. Just look at the numbers - since joining Tools for Change in 2019 Beyond Boundaries RVA : ? 15 projects made possible ? 220 volunteers lending a hand ? 1,119 tools borrowed (that's a lot of equipment!) ? $74, 100.58 value of borrowed tools (imagine the cost without ToolBank!) ? $2,198.50 spent (a small investment for a HUGE return!) ?? "ToolBank is Richmond nonprofits' favorite nonprofit!" – Beyond Boundaries. We couldn't agree more! We're proud to provide the resources that empower Richmond's changemakers. . . . ?? Friends of the James River Park stayed busy in December and they were able to make some serious progress along the Buttermilk Trail. Their volunteer trail crew moved hundreds of 20-30-pound stones to reinforce the trail buckets that support the new trail – talk about a workout! Of course, they had some help from our trusty tools and buckets. #TeamworkMakestheDreamWork When we say this group is BUSY, we mean it - since 2017 ? 28 community projects brought to life! ?839 volunteers making a difference! ?527 tools put to good use! ?$11,099.79 worth of tools put to work for a healthier James River! ? $637.36 – a small investment with a huge return for the James River and the Richmond community. . . .
