This week, Ruvna had the pleasure of attending the 2025 NBOA annual meeting for the first time. Listening to the thought leaders, innovators, and trailblazers in the independent school space continues to inspire us to do more. ? In particular, the “Smart Security: Comprehensive Approaches to School Safety and Success” session with Chris Joffe and Jamie Gershon was a game-changing session for everyone in attendance. They outlined a three-part process for improving school safety methods and finding an approach to security that suits each school's unique needs - something that aligns strongly with the approach we take. What became abundantly clear throughout the conference is that effective school safety isn't about imposing rigid systems but rather developing solutions that preserve and enhance what makes each school community special. Honored to have just wrapped up our session on 'Safety and Trust: Balancing Protection with Student Independence' at today's California Independent Schools Business Officers Association (Cal-ISBOA) Safety & Security Summit. Our co-founder and CFO Marshall Singer joined an expert panel alongside Scott K., former FBI Special Agent and current Director of Security for JFED of Greater Philadelphia, and Matt Riddle from Marlborough School, in a rich discussion moderated by our own Macey Price Belter.
