Do you know an awesome female leader going back to school later in life who could use some extra funds? In celebration of the Rutherford ATHENA Awards Program's twelfth year of existence, the program will be awarding up to $5,000 in scholarship money to a deserving woman returning to school later in life. Application deadline is February 21, 2025. The ATHENA Non-Traditional Scholarship will be awarded to a Rutherford County woman who is pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree later in life. Among other requirements; each applicant must complete a 300-word essay describing how they have embodied ATHENA’s characteristics of wisdom, strength, and justice in their own life and endeavors. Applications, essays, and all required information must be uploaded and submitted online by February 21, 2025. See official rules here. Applicant Eligibility Requirements: ?? Female ?? Be a graduate of any high school or have earned a GED. ?? Have been out of high school for five years or longer. ?? Be a student in or an applicant for admission to any associate or bachelor’s degree program. ?? Previous recipients are NOT eligible for the ATHENA Non-Traditional Scholarship. ?? Have a letter verifying enrollment or completed admission process no later than February 21, 2025. Scholarship recipient will be notified on March 14, 2025.
