Undergraduate Research Writing Conference (URWC) at Rutgers University

Why is research so important? On a National level only 10-14% of undergraduate students in the United States have access to research oppurtunites. However, here at Rutgers we have numerous courses and oppurtunities for students to participate in faculty research and conduct their own! The URWC gives a platform to undergraduate students who have conducted thier own research on topics that pique thier interest, allowing for comprehensive thoughts and ideas to come to light. Through this not only have students been able to learn more about research processes but also explore topics that are relevant to them. Join us for an exciting day full of undergraduate student research at the Livingston?Student Center on April 8th from 10am to 5pm! We are happy to share that we have had the most amount of submissions this year with over?350 papers submitted! Students wrote about various topics including?Healthcare, Fashion History, Food Insecurity and the Arts. The Rutgers Undergraduate Research Writing Conference showcases student research projects written for writing courses right here on the Raritan! With only one day left until the URWC Conference, here are some things to know about the upcoming date! 1. This conference begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. at the Livingston Student Center! 2. The event highlights the selected works of our undergraduate students who took courses within the Rutgers Writing Program, including 303 Research in the Disciplines and 201 Business and Technical Writing. 3. It is a PUBLIC event! All are welcome to attend and listen in on several of our panels. Presenters can invite their friends, family, and even their professors! Be sure to visit our front table to sign in & get more info from our program pamphlets. 4. Attendees can expect to hear presentations on various topics, including Arts & Culture, STEM subjects, politics, and so much more! Those attending can also enjoy our Poster Fair!
