Special thanks to Ruben Colon Velazquez, Timothy Boldurian, CTP, Reema Sethi, Ava Zarrabi, and Isabel Gonzalez for sharing their valuable insights and experiences into Mondelēz. We ended yet another amazing year for RUSCA by hosting our annual Supply Chain Banquet. Each year, the annual banquet serves as a way to celebrate the organization’s success over the school year and the people who made it all possible. Additionally, we have the tradition of bringing in a supply chain executive to give a keynote address to our students to give their perspective on the ever-evolving profession of supply chain. This year, we had the pleasure of hosting Brian Smith, CPO of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, to give a keynote address at our banquet. Mr. Smith talked about his career journey, how he has seen supply chain trends evolve over the years, and what fundamentals he thinks will continue to play a crucial role in supply chains in the future. He also provided several invaluable tips for students to remember as they continue to build their careers. We would like to extend our deepest thank you to Brian Smith for coming to the banquet and sharing his insights. Additionally, we would like to thank all the professionals who took the time to attend our event and share their wisdom with students. A special thank you to our sponsors who made this event possible: Allen Flavors, Inc., Rutgers Business School - Supply Chain Department, and Rutgers Business School Center for Local Supply Chain Resiliency. #rusca #supplychain

A huge thanks to all the incredible companies and representatives who participated in our first-ever Supply Chain Leadership Summit this Friday! It was truly inspiring to have so many industry professionals from Johnson & Johnson, Kenvue, Rutgers Procurement, Wayfair, Grainger, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Air Products come together to share their insights on Supply Chain with our students! Special thanks to Lauren Richardson from Colgate-Palmolive, Joe Agresta and the Johnson & Johnson team, Preeti Kaur from ISM-New Jersey, and Matt Lascari from The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. for their lessons on leadership, career development, and the future of AI! Lastly, a huge shoutout to all the wonderful team members from the Business Association of Supply Chain Expertise (BASE) and the Rutgers Supply Chain Department who worked with us to make this event possible! We look forward to bringing more events like this in the future, so stay tuned! Let’s continue to collaborate, innovate, and shape the future of supply chain management together! #SupplyChain

This week, four of our bright students (Yara, Liam, Gabriel, and Manar) from the Rutgers University Supply Chain Association (RUSCA) joined University Procurement Services for an externship. The students met with the Procurement leadership team to gain insight into their experiences, and with various functional teams to learn about the operations, including source-to-pay, contracts/leases, travel, business intelligence, technology, and others. We wish the students great success in their endeavors.

We had a great time at the Allen Flavors Site Visit last week! A huge thank you to Sal Brucato, Dan Machtemes, and Natalie Delleo for having us. We were able to tour the manufacturing and lab operations and learned a lot about the supply chain of food science. This included learning about the intricate process of developing and sourcing numerous flavors. #rusca #supplychain #opportunities
