Yesterday, our first-ever FinTech Forum was hosted in Collaboration with Rutgers Business Information Technology Society (BITS) and Rutgers Quantitative Finance Club. Students got to hear from industry experts with a wide range of experience on the growing role of fintech within the U.S. and World Economy. Shoutout to Saanika Kadam for planning and leading an incredibly successful event! Special thanks to Ilya Alper for being a phenomenal keynote speaker, and special shoutouts to Ahmed Naiem, Wajahat Gilani, and William Wang for being incredible lecturers. Thank you as well to Swapnil Napuri, Sameer Bhuyan, Marcus Hernandez, Ren Yang, Vishwanath Sudabhattula, Nadia R. Bisumber, CFA, CPA, Sridhara Raju Govindaraju, Smit Gor, Rakshit Tyagi, and Allen Li for being extraordinary panelists, providing insight, and answering the questions of our students. Our purpose is to prepare students for careers in the corporate finance industry. We focus on placing students in corporate finance, and treasury positions at leading firms. We will host a wide range of educational and networking activities throughout the academic year, giving students opportunities to obtain and succeed at interviews. Additionally, a mentorship program will be implemented to connect students with industry professionals to further enhance their knowledge. Our meetings and workshops are specifically designed to help students stand out to the leaders in corporate finance.

Last night, I had the pleasure of speaking with student members of the Corporate Finance Society at Rutgers University (stock picture due to the rain!) When I went though my own undergrad studies, there weren’t many classes or activities geared towards the corporate finance route vs. “Wall Street” route. I was happy to explain the different specialties within the corporate track, and how the FLDP rotational program at BD lets you gain real-world exposure to many of them over a condensed timeline. Having been a grad of a rotational program myself, I can’t speak highly enough about the short and long-term benefits it’s had on my own career.
