Rural Development Initiatives, Inc. is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in Coburg, Oregon. RDI was formed in 1991 in response to the timber industry crisis facing the Pacific Northwest. Today RDI is continuing to support rural communities as they work through challenging economic conditions. RDI’s nationally recognized programs and services help communities help themselves with effective and results-oriented training and resources necessary for individuals living in rural communities to build and sustain a better future in their communities. Our work is based upon our genuine commitment to help rural people and communities build rural capacity through Leadership Development programs and strengthen Rural Economic Vitality through moving capacity into action.

    USDA Rural Development is inviting all interested to join in on a virtual meeting with the Interagency Working Group to talk Cooperative Development. Moderated by Hilary Abell with the Department of Labor, topics include Colorado State's transformation of cooperative statutes and programs, alongside the growing cooperative movement in Puerto Rico through USDA-NIFA.     RDI is hiring a Funds Tracking and Compliance Manager! The Funds Tracking and Compliance Manager position is responsible for tracking and coding program expenses, revenue, and time, and ensuring the compliance and administration of private, state, and federal grants and subcontracts. This position reports to the Partnerships & Fund Development Manager and works closely with the Deputy Director and Operations Manager to manage compliance and partnerships with many funders and vendors. Requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree, two years of grant administration or accounting experience, and solid understanding and technical expertise of grant compliance requirements and contracts agreements. Our ideal candidate for the position must be a self-starter, have strong attention to detail and procedural requirements, be comfortable connecting with external stakeholders, and handle sensitive information in an appropriate and confidential manner. This position can be remote from a home office or based at the RDI Headquarters in Coburg, OR. It comes with a flexible 36 hour work week, competitive pay, and a robust benefits package.   • Oregon Department of Transportation is offering two grant opportunities through its Innovative Mobility Program. Pre-applications are now being accepted through October 25 for projects that improve access to public and active transportation for historically underserved groups. The two grant options are: 1. Study and Assessment Grants: Supports the conducting of assessments to better understand transportation needs and system gaps.
