?? It’s amazing how deep roots in a community can grow into something that lasts a lifetime. Candi and Allan Withem’s journey with Rural Action started as VISTA members and blossomed into decades of impactful community development work right here in Appalachian Ohio. ? ? As we reflect on their story, we remember the wisdom they shared—whether it was Candi teaching us about flexibility and listening, or Allan reminding us of the simple joys of childhood in a holler. Their contributions go far beyond the work they did; they’re part of the story of Rural Action, and part of all of us who’ve been touched by their legacy. ??? ? Thank you, Candi and Allan, for teaching us that "It doesn’t have to be the way it always has been." ??? ? Click here to read more: https://lnkd.in/dT4XjJyD

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for a Day of Service in honor of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. last Monday at Federal Valley Resource Center (FVRC) in Stewart, Ohio! Led by AORC member George Blankenhorn, we came together to clean and revitalize the historic middle schoolhouse. From sweeping and hauling debris to scraping walls and dust removal, we’re one step closer to transforming this historic building into a usable space for community programming—something the FVRC has long hoped to make a reality. Your hard work is making this vision possible! ? #MLKDay #StewartOhio
