The Amazon return to office mandate is getting more and more interesting. A source told me about their cratering ENPS data and that they'd take at least a 20+% paycut today to work remotely somewhere else. The part that's even more interesting is Google. They made an announcement two weeks ago that they're committed to hybrid/remote work. It's not so much to keep their current employees happy but to steal amazon employees over to google. Full video is down below but I'd love to hear your thoughts.

?? How often do you host your #Allhands meetings as a #remote company? In the Running Remote community, we've noticed a trend: the frequency of all-hands meetings often aligns with company size and growth: Smaller and rapidly growing companies tend to meet more frequently to keep everyone aligned. Here are some real-world examples: Checkly (40 employees): Weekly 30-minute meetings, canceled if no significant updates. Mural: Moved from biweekly to weekly meetings during rapid growth. Cro Metrics (60+ employees): Biweekly 30-minute updates. Lime Technology Inc. (10 employees): Biweekly meetings. Slash (40 employees): Monthly, first Monday meetings for a fresh start. Hostaway (220 employees): Monthly 1-hour sessions. Seer Interactive (200 employees): Monthly meetings with interactive Q&A. Testlio (200 employees): Monthly, rotating times for global inclusivity. dbt Labs: Meets monthly, as part of as part of a broader communication strategy. Time Doctor (140+ employees): 1-hour sessions across 2 time zones, monthly. QuoIntelligence (40 employees): Every five weeks, with potential to increase frequency. Publitas.com (100+ employees): Quarterly 30-45 minute sessions. Whether you host all-hands monthly or weekly, the key is making them effective. Check out more tips here: https://lnkd.in/darHMgEM

Elon and Vivek Ramaswamy have been tasked with setting up DOGE (department of government efficiency) and they have remote work on the chopping block. Vivek was just on Tucker Carlson stating that one of the first strategies he will implement is a forceable 5 day RTO mandate once he takes power and he estimates that approximately 25% of the workforce will quit just off implementing that mandate (he may be right). I go into this in depth on my larger video but what do you think this is going to do for the future of work? The amazon RTO mandate hasn't moved the hard numbers on remote work at all (if anything if you look at The Kastle Systems RTO data the number actually went back in the direction of remote work!). My take is that we will probably see a lot more "coffee badging" and "hushed hybrid" which the data is already showing is quite pervasive.

Chief Elevation Officer | Helping Entrepreneurs and Authors Build Influence and Achieve Peak Performance
One thing I’ve learned over the last two weeks is that I have the absolute BEST professional network! When I left my last job in 2017, I had almost zero professional network outside of the company. I had been there 10 years, and the company itself was very introverted. We didn’t interact much externally. This time around it has been a totally different experience. I have been overwhelmed (in a good way!) with the amount of people who have reached out to me. Thanks to the connections I’ve made through organizations like Bureau of Digital, Running Remote, Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM), and just good old fashioned online networking, I feel like I have been in speed networking mode for two straight weeks. It has been refreshing and exciting! If you’re not one of those I’ve gotten to reconnect with over the last couple of weeks but you’d like to, DM me and we’ll set up a time to chat. ??

The last async AMAs in the Running Remote?#community?were value-packed, super interesting conversations. Check out the depth of the insights shared! We hosted?Justyna Adamczyk, Chief People Officer at?Sketch, a fully?#remote?design platform company that embraces self-management, a manager-free approach, and highly #async work with a strong #documentation #remoteculture and no #meetings. Justyna shared insights on: → Sketch's unique approach to decentralized leadership. → How they prioritize text-based communication through Slack, even conducting interviews this way (which is how Justyna was hired). → Their creative use of emojis and GIFs to enhance communication, like contests and their "emoji-enthusiasts" channel. → A transparent feedback process involving public sharing in Slack for group problem-solving. We also welcomed?Georgie Roberts, Director of People and Operations at?Float.com, a fully remote and bootstrapped company with over 60 team members across 20+ countries and certified as a B Corp. Georgie offered her insights on: → Float's 'same job, same pay' compensation model. → Why they keep compensation separate from performance reviews. → The role of the Team Experience Manager in driving high performance. → Their journey and the significance of B Corp certification. → The importance of integrating finance within People Ops in people-first organizations. → The rationale behind having a robust People Ops team in a relatively small organization like Float. ?? These could be my favorite events in the community as they provide members an opportunity to connect, get pressing questions answered async, benchmark, and find inspiration! A big thank you to?Justyna Adamczyk & Georgie Roberts?for your openness and transparency ???? ?
