Ruff Haven Crisis Sheltering

Did you know Ruff Haven pulls animals directly from local shelters after they have been surrendered by the owners? We took three cats into our shelter this week for two different families who were devastated to have to take them to the animal shelter, not knowing there was another option. Today we picked up sweet Crab the cat from Animal Care of Davis County while her owner seeks substance use treatment. She has been struggling in the shelter environment. Crab will be in our temporary care program so she can reunite with her owner when he completes treatment. Not only are we able to keep pets with their families but our programming frees up valuable kennels for shelters to be able to provide care for the dogs and cats who truly need them. ????

Sol and her mom were separated after falling on hard times. Sol was able to stay in one of our extremely dedicated and supportive Foster Sitter homes. She had some minor skin allergies and we were able to provide medication and shampoo to get the itching under control. We are happy to share they were reunited last week and Sol was thrilled to see her mom again. We are grateful for the support of our community which allows us to provide these services as no cost to the pet owners in our program. ??ANNOUNCEMENT!?? Our pet pantry is changing! As the requests for pet food have increased every scheduled pantry. To manage the requests and traffic we are moving to a once-a-week pick-up with longer hours. Beginning July 4th (yes, the holiday!), our recipients can pick up anytime between 7 AM- 7 PM. We will still have our walk-in pet pantry at Weigand Center 7-days a week. No appointment is needed. Please carefully read the new schedule and pick-up details on our website at ruffhaven.org/petpantry. We look forward to providing more accessible services!

Frenchie lovers, do we have a fabulous frenchie foster for you! Meet FonZ the Frenchie. This little 1 1/2 year old pint sized goofball is looking for a foster home while he waits to be reunited with his family. FonZ has been neutered, has lived with a small dog, children, and even cats! He loves doing Frenchie things like demanding butt rubs, playing with doggo friends, and being happy.
