As Rudd Resources closes out 2024, we’re reflecting on the insights gained at Sway, our internal professional development retreat. Sway allows us to connect, articulate our "professional why," and set meaningful goals for the future. This year, we were proud to welcome Lewis Williams — an award-winning creative leader with extensive experience in total, ethnic, and multicultural marketing — as our guest speaker. His insights on the future and enduring importance of diverse voices in our industry were both inspiring and invaluable. Recently, members of our leadership team attended the IPREX Global Communication Americas Conference, where David Rudd, as IPREX DEI Chair, introduced the new Retention Toolkit and exchanged ideas with industry peers. In year two at Rudd Resources LLC, I was honored to work on some cool projects, like the Village of Richton Park, IL's TOD plan with Ginkgo, which focuses on bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure among other recommendations, the Lake Calumet Bike Network Study, which Cook County Government DoTH and HNTB presented at the APA conference-IL, and the Washington Park Framework Plan to guide community-centric improvements with MUSE Community + Design. I look forward to what is to come with work that includes the culmination of the updated vision for how downtown growth can serve all Chicagoans called the Central Area Plan Update with SB Friedman Development Advisors, Chicago’s first-ever plan to equitably advance Electric Vehicle (EV) and e-mobility infrastructure improvements with Chicago Department of Transportation, and taking a community-focused approach with South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association and Epstein Architecture, Engineering and Construction on land use and transportation solutions in the Calumet Triangle. If that wasn’t enough, I can incorporate our creative, intentional engagement to the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’s Safe Travel for All initiative in Cook County with Jacobs and DuPage County with Sam Schwartz to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries. Thank you to all the clients for allowing me to showcase our Rudder values of candor, drive, joy, empathy, and curiosity. We’re thrilled to announce that Keilan Goodridge, a 2024 Summer Associate at Rudd Resources, has been hired as a full-time Account Coordinator! A graduate of Western Illinois University, Keilan demonstrated media savvy during her summer with us, successfully pitching to outlets, writing engaging social media content, and even helping facilitate focus groups. Her curiosity and candor will be key to advancing our work and driving impactful results for clients.
