关于我们
Since 1933, Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) has been a leader in training and education for professional HVACR technicians and contractors. RSES was launched in an era when the small commercial and domestic refrigeration industry was in its infancy. At that time the only training available was through the factory and it typically lasted three or four weeks. Those who completed the factory training were now considered a "factory-trained expert." The majority of work was conducted by product dealers, distributors, or factory service departments. As more installations were done the need for independent service operators increased and the need for collecting, distributing, and exchanging ideas and information became paramount. It was through the untiring efforts of these independent service operators that RSES was born. Though the scope and range of the industry has grown exponentially since then, RSES has remained dedicated to delivering technical information to HVACR professionals under a single vision and mission: Vision Statement To be the definitive industry leader in all segments of the HVACR industry by providing superior educational training. Mission Statement To provide opportunities for enhanced technical competence by offering comprehensive, cutting-edge education and certification to our members and the HVACR industry. To advance the professionalism and proficiency of our industry through alliances with other HVACR associations. RSES, a 501(c)(6) membership organization with members in chapters in the U.S. and Canada, with additional technicians routinely using its training material in 50 countries across six continents.

How good is your refrigeration history knowledge? ?? ?What compressor manufacturer used recycled Civil War cannon balls to cast their compressors? ?In what decade was the multi-port valve patented? ?What famous refrigeration company got their refrigeration start by repairing De Large compressors? ?What famous German pair teamed up to bring an innovative ammonia compressor to the United States? ?Who was the Ice King? So, how many do you know? ?? If your mind went blank, don’t worry— RSES is hosting the Technical Webinar, “The History of Refrigeration,” presented by Vern Sanderson, Senior Manager: Process Safety Management, SFC Global Supply Chain, Inc. The classic era of refrigeration, beginning with the invention of Perkins through the birth of refrigeration without ice, may be refrigeration’s most interesting era. Much of the equipment in the field today has its roots in the classic era. This topic, in many ways, mirrors the history of civilization: discovery followed by innovation, rapid growth and then the cycle restarts. Vern M. Sanderson is a failed cow-milker who grew up on a farm in Ohio. To date, he has 37 years in the ammonia refrigeration industry. He has several industry passions, including refrigeration history, compliance and people. An advocate for training, he is a RETA Authorized Instructor (RAI); has published nearly 200 articles to date, as well as a book, “Functional Standard operating Procedures for the Ammonia Refrigeration Industry;” and has presented at many industry conferences, including RSES, RETA and IIAR. Lastly, he is a former RETA National Board Member and has held every nationally elected office including National President. ?March 26, 2025, 6PM CST / 7PM EST ??Click here to register: https://bit.ly/4h2pp6S ??Attendees of the live session will receive a certificate for completing one (1) hour of continuing education after the conclusion of the webinar. #rses #webinar #refrigeration #hvacr #history

Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) - Official Page(RETA) and Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with sister association North American Sustainable Refrigeration Council (NASRC) in February during the 2025 AHR Expo in Orlando, FL. ?? The agreement aims for both associations to develop and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship in order to promote the safe and efficient use of natural refrigerants applied in refrigeration technology. Specifically, RETA-RSES and NASRC plan to collaborate on developing and promoting a Commercial Refrigeration Certification for technicians, including CO2 technologies, with the opportunity for future collaborations and trainings. Both RETA and NASRC have collaborated on another project similar in scope related strictly to industrial CO2. RETA-RSES Executive Director Jim Barron and NASRC Executive Director Danielle Wright have been working with their respective boards over several months so that the MOU satisfies both organizations’ memberships and industry needs. ?? #reta #rses #nasrc #hvacr #partnership

Last week, RETA-RSES Executive Director Jim Barron traveled 2,178 miles from Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) - Official Page HQ in Albany, Oregon to RSES HQ in Schaumburg, IL to continue steering the ship of our two sister associations! ? Jim and Lori Schiavo (Kasallis), Senior Director of Operations at RSES, took over our conference room to prepare for upcoming projects and the Spring Board Meeting in April at RETA HQ. (Keep your eyes peeled for what they have instore for RETA-RSES! ??) Later in the week, RSES staff met with Jim to have a pizza party and team meeting.
