Definitions and boundaries are critical to understanding and comparing PCFs. Differences in sources of data – primary or secondary databases We couldn’t agree more! RSC Bio engaged ALLCOT to independently quantify our Product Carbon Footprint for FUTERRA HF 46 hydraulic fluid. From production to customer delivery - ?the PCF is 176.85 kg CO2 equivalent.??This is significantly lower than synthetic, mineral or petroleum derived hydraulic fluids delivering substantial decarbonization benefits to equipment operators.

STLE's January 2025 Tribology and Lubrication Technology edition features LARRY BEAVER on the future of more sustainable lubricants. Beaver predicts an inevitable shift towards more sustainable lubricants, noting that "as regulations become more stringent and limits to the use of conventional additives become more prevalent or more restrictive, the role of biobased additives can only increase".?The key challenge remains developing biobased solutions that perform well at a competitive cost.
