Two modern exterior design options for this historic Union City brick row house—we love them both! This concept features a second-floor primary suite addition, wrapped in horizontal Ipe boards to create a striking modern contrast against the traditional brick fa?ade. One version leaves the Ipe unfinished, allowing it to weather naturally to a silvery gray patina, while the other uses a clear coat to preserve its rich, warm tone. Below the suite, the space was left open for parking—a rare and valuable asset for this corner property in such a densely packed neighborhood. Although the project was never built due to the homeowners relocating to Los Angeles, we like to think they’ve found their California modern dream.

Nestled on a five-acre property along the shores of a serene lake in New York’s Hudson Valley, this vacation home was designed for a family of nature lovers. We crafted a design that balances simplicity with modern architecture, all while maximizing the spectacular lakeside views.

Convenient and functional! This mudroom sits right off the kitchen and patio door, making it the perfect drop zone for pool guests—keeping mess and foot traffic out of the main living spaces. Drawing inspiration from classic American shingle style architecture, this rendering showcases twin gables that are set low to bring a softer scale to the otherwise large estate. Lap siding on the first floor, broken up by horizontal white freeze board on the second floor, provides another classic detail of shingle style homes. The angled roof lines and curved portico entrance add dimension to this shingle style home.
