Last Friday we placed the first Starrsed NSTA in the Netherlands at the NKI/AvL hospital in Amsterdam. Installation and training were performed in collaboration with Sysmex Netherlands. The Starrsed NSTA is the newest member of our Starrsed family. Starrsed instruments perform the Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) according to the Westergren gold standard and are fully automated. VANDAAG 8 MEI IS HET WERELD THALASSEMIE DAG De dag om aandacht te vragen voor deze zeldzame ernstige erfelijke vorm van chronische anemie. Deze ziekte heeft enorme impact op de kwaliteit van het leven van de pati?nten. Zij zijn levenslang afhankelijk van bloedtransfusies met ijzerstapeling en orgaanschade tot gevolg. In Nederland zijn er circa 300 pati?nten met deze ziekte. Als Rotterdams Expertisecentrum voor sikkelcelziekte en thalassemie vinden wij deze aandacht enorm belangrijk! Vanavond kleurt daarom de gehele NA-toren van het ErasmusMC ROOD! Dus zegt het voort en zorg dat heel Rotterdam deze ziekte kent!
