On Thursday, September 19th, 2024, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and members of Army National Guard Multijurisdictional Counterdrug Task Force Training Team, conducted a joint training operation on North Matanzas Blvd in St. Augustine. Together, SJSO SWAT, Drone, K9, Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), and instructors worked through a realistic barricaded suspect and hostage scenario using SWAT armored vehicles, the Rook and Bearcat, new indoor drone capabilities, K9 engagement, and a gas deployment plan. The exercise ended in a successful hostage rescue mission. This training ensures the safety and success in any critical incident and emergency response event. ???
