关于我们

Think you know the Royal British Legion? Think again. You probably know us for our poppies and recognise our name but the day-to-day work we do to support the Armed Forces community might surprise you! We’re the country’s largest Armed Forces charity. We help serving and ex-serving personnel, and their families, live fulfilling lives through a wide range of support and services. We advocate and campaign to government on behalf of the Armed Forces community, as well as leading the nation in Remembrance to ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten. We’re here for those who’ve served to defend our nation, its democratic freedoms and our way of life. To put it plainly, we’ve always got their backs, whatever stage of life they’re at. Help shape our future It’s a really exciting time to join us and play a part in changing the lives of the people we support, and our future capacity and capability. Working at RBL means working with colleagues who are young at heart, keen to learn and eager to make change. Our team is massively committed to our mission and proud of what we achieve. We employ around 1,800 people across the country to campaign on behalf of the Armed Forces Community, deliver support services, lead Remembrance, raise funds to support our work and develop and run the organisation and our network of membership branches. From our major hub offices, we work collaboratively and have flexible/hybrid working practices in place. And with the latest technology colleagues can connect with one another, our members and beneficiaries, and come together around our common purpose and values.

Meet the incredible Roger Brown, who has volunteered for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal for over 50 years! When we asked Roger what he’d say to anyone thinking of volunteering, he didn’t hesitate. “Do it, enjoy it, get the satisfaction of your part in the Act of Remembrance of Never Forget. “It's not just putting money in the Poppy tins, people want to talk. We also have to remember the RBL do brilliant work in the background all the year round.” For Roger, volunteering for the Poppy Appeal is a family tradition inspired by his Grandmother’s husband, James West, who was tragically lost at the Battle of the Somme. Roger’s Grandfather (his Grandmother’s second husband) and father both dedicated much of their lives to the Market Harborough RBL branch and supporting the Poppy Appeal. Each served in various branch roles and both had the honour of representing the branch at RBL’s Festival of Remembrance in 1945 and 1979 respectively. Roger learned the importance of their service, and began collecting for poppies with them as a child in the 1950s, and returns year after year. With service to the Poppy Appeal spanning over 79 years across the generations of Roger’s family, we are so grateful for their commitment and support. Want to play your part? The King - Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces - was joined by other members of The Royal Family, as well as representatives of the Armed Forces and the Commonwealth for the National Service of Remembrance and the Two Minute Silence. This was followed by the annual march past the Cenotaph. Organised by the Royal British Legion, it saw ten thousand British and Commonwealth veterans and civilian members of the Armed Forces community honouring the fallen of the British Armed Forces involved in the two World Wars and all conflicts since. We hope everyone enjoyed the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance tonight. What was your highlight? This year's Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall commemorated the 80th anniversary of key WW2 battles such as D-Day, marked a decade since UK forces ended combat operations in Afghanistan, and we paid tribute to the children of those that serve in the Armed Forces. Thank you to our wonderful host Adrian Lester, and to all the music artists and military bands who helped make the evening so special. If you missed it, or would like to watch it again, you can watch on BBC iPlayer. #FestivalOfRemembrance #Remembrance
