Did you know that access to play in natural spaces is diminishing in the UK, and more and more children are lacking an emotional connection to nature? Our Playful Green Planet initiative aims to transform green spaces into ecologically thriving outdoor playrooms and classrooms that grow children’s (0-10) ecological citizenship. The RSA (The royal society for arts, manufactures and commerce) reposted this
I had an amazing evening on stage last night, hosting a discussion on motherhood and creativity with charlie sells and Laxmi Hussain at The RSA (The royal society for arts, manufactures and commerce) for International Women's Day. This was the first of our Arts Board events, highlighting the role of the arts in this great institution. Great conversation is powerful, and this one—along with our fantastic audience—left us with plenty to think about. A big thanks to the RSA and Hannah De Rozario for providing the space to host this important discussion Also a total delight to see one of my very first Studio Lawen spatial design clients and her 9 day old baby (!!!) in the audience. Perhaps the youngest attendee at an RSA event yet? #InternationalWomensDay #Motherhood #Creativity #CreativeMothers #RSA #TheArts #WomenInTheArts

For over 270 years, we have worked to create a world that is resilient, rebalanced and regenerative, where everyone, regardless of gender, can fulfil their potential. This #WomensHistoryMonth, we'll be highlighting some incredible female Fellows, starting off the month with Susie Cooper OBE, who was one of the most important and influential designers of the 20th century. ?? She set up her own factory in 1929 and became famous for her “Kestrel” shaped ceramic designs that were unveiled at the British Industries Fair in 1932. The expansion of Cooper's business in the 1930s led her to revolutionise lithographic transfer printing. She became a Fellow of the Society of Arts in 1934, and was welcomed into the Royal Designers for Industry faculty in 1940. Watch this space for more features of our wonderful influential females Fellows. ??
