Revenue gets the headlines, but it’s the bottom line that keeps you in the game. As we wrap up our 2024 financials, I’m reflecting on a milestone that means a lot, Royal ReFresh just surpassed $10 million in annual sales for the first time. Less than 1% of businesses ever reach this level, which makes it even more meaningful. But here’s the reality: top-line revenue is exciting, but it’s the bottom line that determines whether you build something that lasts. When I first started in business, I thought growth was all about pushing sales higher. Over time, I learned that profitability, cash flow ??, and cost control ?? are what actually keep you in business. These are the things that separate businesses that survive from the ones that fade out. Looking back, one of the most valuable lessons I learned was knowing my financials inside and out. Your P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement aren’t just numbers—they tell the story of whether your business is thriving or barely making it. Too many founders chase revenue while ignoring the fundamentals, and that’s why 70% of small businesses don’t make it past 10 years. At the end of the day, net profit doesn’t lie. It’s what allows a business to grow, take care of its team, and stand the test of time. Grateful for the journey, the challenges, and the people who’ve been part of it. This year’s theme, “Convenience That Cares,” hits home because vending, when done right, isn’t just about transactions. It’s about service, reliability, and making life a little easier for the people who count on it. When I started Royal ReFresh, it was just me, two vending machines, and a belief that there was a better way to serve customers. Today, we’ve grown into a company that supports hundreds of businesses, providing not just vending, but micro markets, office coffee, and pantry services tailored to the needs of modern workplaces. This past year has been a big one. We expanded our footprint ??, brought smarter self-checkout technology to new locations, and helped customers create better breakroom experiences for their teams ???. But none of it happens without the route drivers ??, warehouse teams ??, customer service reps, and the 160,000+ hardworking Americans who keep this industry moving every day.
