About a year ago, we were contacted by a brand new organization whose goals were focused on reimagining the infrastructure to support working artists in the US. They were interested in partmerning with Rowhome to create a podcast centered on the way artists keep going, create sustainability in their lives, and nurture their creative practices in order to thrive. All of these themes resonated deeply with our work and interests, so we quickly said “Yes!” After months of creative development that involved conceptualizing the sound and structure of the show, piloting, and many conversations with ARTPOWER's deep network of collaborators, we’re so excited to share that we’ve officially launched The ARTPOWER Podcast. Hosted by?janera solomon, a writer, poet, curator, and cultural strategist, the podcast showcases?the underexplored and overlooked financial journey of independent working artists. The podcast features artists at various career stages, abilities and identities and unveils honest and?insightful stories on how they navigate the intersection of their passion and pocketbook. Our talented production team includes producers Jackson Roach &?Kristin Vermilya. The theme music is composed by Jackson with contributions by our own?Alex Lewis. Mixing and mastering by?John L. Myers. The trailer and very first episode featuring Pittsburgh-based painter and sculptor Naomi Chambers (https://lnkd.in/ehA8ak-5) are available now. Episodes will be released monthly. This album of photos shows members of the 389th Engineer General Service Regiment during World War II. It was almost destroyed, but it was salvaged from the trash in Norristown, Pennsylvania and is now part of the Atwater Kent Collection at Drexel University. “The work of collecting these things and seeing the importance of storing these things, of saving these things, of pulling them out and talking to other people, all of that is also a part of this, this kinkeeping work of making sure that we remember who we come from and who we're connected to. It's the work of making sure not only that we're connected in the present, but also that we maintain our ties to our history.” - Adrienne Whaley, Former President of the African American Genealogy Group in Philadelphia Hear this story and others in “Kinkeeping”, the latest episode of the Philadelphia Revealed podcast. This episode was produced by Savannah Collins. https://lnkd.in/eJfVpPBR

Did you know that "Peace Park", "Eisenhower Stadium" and the "Quaker Bowl" were a few of the names originally proposed for Philly's Veterans Stadium? Hear stories inspired by the Vet in the latest episode of the Philadelphia Revealed podcast. https://lnkd.in/eJfVpPBR
A turnstile from Philly’s storied Veterans Stadium in the Atwater Kent Collection at Drexel reminded Nick Kupsey of how his father’s first job out of college was working at The Vet. Nick has a deep understanding of what it means to be a sports fan in the City of Brotherly Love: the pain and glory, the joy and suffering, and the way all of our teams weave themselves into the fabric of the city. And for Nick, all of these feelings are an intimate part of his family story and what it means to be a Philadelphian. Listen to his story: https://lnkd.in/gCAX-yDn Philadelphia Revealed is an exhibition, a podcast, and a platform for anyone to add their story to Philly history. The exhibition runs July 18 - December 1 at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and features a large, interactive display of over 600 objects from the Atwater Kent Collection at Drexel University. Ten of these objects inspire the First Person Arts storytellers you’ll hear on the podcast, made by WHYY & Rowhome Productions Visit the exhibition: https://lnkd.in/ekdQ_i6W
