Yet another win for Rowan County Health Department! Not only did the Town of Granite Quarry recently approve the adoption of smoke-free parks but they were the first municipality to pass nicotine-free parks. We as public health professionals must remain vigilant in assessing and addressing health risks, and this is a prime example of that. With the gaining popularity of nicotine pouch products, it was important that we were very intentional in our advocacy efforts. I am continuously amazed by the work of my team and all they are able to accomplish to improve the health of Rowan County.
