A national leader in engineering education, the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering (COE) was founded in 1995. The College and its programs, professors and students have received regional, national and international recognition since the start. The College provides a hands-on, minds-on experience that is nationally recognized. We offer degree programs in the following disciplines: biomedical, chemical, civil & environmental, construction management, electrical & computer, engineering entrepreneurship, engineering management and mechanical engineering. In 2013, the State of New Jersey designated Rowan University a comprehensive research university, and in 2017 our University was recognized as a Carnegie-classified research institution. During that period, Rowan Engineering doubled both its full-time faculty and student population. In 2017, we opened the doors of Engineering Hall and completed a full renovation of our original home, Rowan Hall. These projects tripled our available space and provided the College with state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities.

Congratulations to Dr. Zenaida Otero Gephardt, a chemical engineering professor at Rowan University, on being named Delaware Valley Engineer of the Year by the Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia. Gephardt was nominated for this prestigious honor by the Delaware Valley section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers. The award recognizes professional excellence, civic duty, environmental stewardship, and contributions to society. “What makes this so meaningful is that the people who nominated me have known my work and who I am as a person for a long time,” Gephardt shared. Rowan University has signed a partnership with the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst (NAWCAD Lakehurst) to foster innovative research collaborations with small businesses and industry. Additionally, Rowan has renewed its education agreement with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) to enhance research and offer advanced training for students. Both agreements were celebrated during a formal signing event on January 22. These partnerships bring Rowan into the Navy's Liberty Tech Bridge, paving the way for new problem-solving ecosystems and career opportunities for Rowan students in the defense and tech sectors.
