After the election last week, we're pleased to announce three candidates have been elected to the MANRS Steering Committee: Douglas Fernando Fischer, Peering Latam Erika Vega Valenzuela, LACNOG steven wallace, Internet2 All three join the Steering Committee for the first time and will serve a three-year term. Congratulations to all three, and a huge thanks to all the candidates who ran. At NANOG last month, several leading network operators and researchers met together in this session to discuss the state of routing security, challenges it faces, and how to foster its continuous improvement. It seems that the situation is getting better, but does data tell us the whole story? How do we overcome the lack of customer awareness and action? What tools do operators have at their disposal, especially in cases where #RPKI is insufficient or cannot be applied? And how can we ensure that #routingsecurity controls are optimally deployed and do not degrade but improve following the changing threat landscape and advances in technology and practices? What is the role of common #cybersecurity frameworks and collective efforts like #MANRS here? These are just a few of the questions we touched upon in this 90-min session at #NANOG92. On 1 October, we?announced?that nominations are now open for three seats on the #MANRS Steering Committee. We received feedback from several participants that the original proposed election dates of 4-6 November were not ideal.?We have therefore agreed to move the MANRS Steering Committee election to 11-13 November 2024.
