We are pretty excited for what the future holds for these #Rotaractors and what these #Rotaractors hold for the future of the world. #RD6910
To me, #Rotary is where ordinary people come together to do extraordinary things. Rotary continues to have a huge impact in my life. I joined the Rotary family in 2009 as an Interactor at Royal College in Sri Lanka. For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Area Governor for Rotaract for Rotary District 6910. This weekend, I attended PETS with my fellow Rotaract leaders. Here are just the highlights from the past two years: ?? We started with two Rotaract clubs in 2023. Today, we have 5 clubs in our district — welcome to our brand new Rotaract Club from University of North Georgia - Dahlonega. ?? In early 2023, when Sri Lanka was struggling to import medical goods due to economic conditions, we got in touch with MAP International, Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (Elixir platform), Sevalanka Foundation, and the Ministry of Health to deliver more than half a million dollars ($512,000) medicine goods and products. ?? In 2024, we partnered with the Rotaract Club of William & Mary (Allisyn Lam) to support a water and sanitation global grant in schools in Ashanti Region of Ghana near Kumasi. The project is being implemented right now. Will impact roughly 4,000 people. These are just three highlights. Every day, Rotaractors partner with Rotarians to do good in the world. If you have an idea, want to make an impact, but feel too small or helpless to take action, join Rotaract (or Rotary) and join hands to do things you think are impossible. We have a track record of doing the impossible. #Rotaract #PETS #PeopleofAction #UniteforGood
