Celebrating the Festival of Lights??? Associates across our offices gathered for Diwali celebrations hosted by our InspirAsian CommUnity Network group. For some it was a moment to celebrate an important personal holiday, for others a moment to learn about and share in their colleagues’ culture. Diwali celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, and marks the beginning of the fiscal year in India. Volunteers prepared food, applied henna tattoos, hosted education booths, and performed traditional dances. Our volunteer program offers a unique opportunity for supporters to provide hands-on assistance to the families we serve. This year we've hosted 148 events engaging 2,317 volunteers in 7,944.5 hours of service at our warehouses in New York and Los Angeles that fuel our anti-poverty initiatives and provide a loving touch to the goods that are sorted, bundled and distributed to Good+ families. We put our creative minds together to create cute, scary, and downright ridiculous pumpkin decorations.
