Rosie's Place was founded in 1974 as the first women’s shelter in the United States.
关于我们
In Massachusetts, 1 in 10 residents live in poverty. More than 15,000 people are homeless on any given day. And a stunning 1 in 3 adults are considered food insecure. Rosie’s Place addresses these critical needs by providing comprehensive, compassionate, immediate and expert support to every woman who seeks our help. The mission of Rosie’s Place is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to help poor and homeless women to maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives. Rosie's Place relies solely on the generosity of our individual, foundation and corporate supporters. We do not accept city, state or federal funding so that we can maintain our independence.

We are grateful to all our friends at Fidelity Investments who recently voted for Rosie’s Place to be this year's recipient of their Associate-Led YOUR CHOICE grant in the Boston community! This support will enable us to continue turning hope into help for more than 12,000 women every year. Thank you! #grant #thankyou #community

According to the 2024 Boston Indicators Report, among large U.S. cities, Boston has the second highest rate of homelessness. Fifty years after our founding, Rosie’s Place’s help has never been needed more. Every night, our shelter beds are full and each day, hundreds of women rely on the basic and vital services our Dining Room, Food Pantry and Day Shelter provide. Last year, our Dining Room served 152,000 healthy and culturally inclusive meals—a dramatic 47% increase from the year before. Over 12 months, we helped 2,014 women and their children remain housed, a 24% increase from the year before. In response to these increased and critical needs, we have launched a strategic plan that means, over the next four years we will grow all of our programming by 25%. With the support of our friends, we will continue being more and doing more for the women who need us most. #HHWEEK #welcome #getinvolved

No one should have to choose between eating or keeping their lights on. No one should be without a home or a safe place to sleep. This week, as always, we will provide welcome, help and hope to hundreds of poor and homeless women in need of shelter, food and support. Thanks to our wonderful community of friends, our doors will remain open to every woman who needs us for as long as she needs us. #HHWEEK #support #community
