Earlier this month, our Y-Achievers students from City Center YMCA had an exciting hands-on experience at the Precision Cobotics, Robotic WorX – The Solutions Lab at Millersville University of Pennsylvania! They toured the lab, explored classrooms in Osburn Hall, and even had the chance to interact with a robot. Y-Achievers is a college preparatory program designed to help teens and young adults prepare for their futures through career exploration, college tours, mentoring, leadership development, and more. By building connections with area leaders and organizations, Y-Achievers empowers students to set and achieve their higher education and career goals. Find Your Y. See Your Impact. At the YMCA of the Roses, we believe in the power of community. Our Program Placemat makes it easy to explore everything we offer—from youth sports and swim lessons to wellness programs and community initiatives. But the Y is more than just programs. With the support of our community, we provide food and affordable housing for families, safe spaces for teens, life-saving chronic disease programs, and more. See the real impact of generosity in our Giving Guide—because when we come together, we make a difference. "What a return on investment of community resources—we couldn’t be more grateful for you. Honored to host this session at the Y! Grateful for strong partnerships that support and strengthen nonprofit leaders.
Our NLA class had an enriching third session at the YMCA of the Roses - York County, diving into the roles and responsibilities of the board and board chair, as well as strategies for building a strong working partnership between the two! ?? A huge thank you to Larry Richardson, President & CEO of YMCA of the Roses, for leading an insightful discussion on relationship building. With over 30 years of leadership and national training experience in YMCA governance, we were incredibly fortunate to learn directly from an expert! ?? We also extend our gratitude to the White Rose Leadership Institute for their valued partnership in this year's Nonprofit Leadership Academy!

After 31 years of dedicated leadership, Larry Richardson is retiring from the YMCA of the Roses in July. His impact on our Y community is immeasurable—from expanding programs to strengthening connections across York and Lancaster counties. "It has been both a blessing and a privilege. To all the board members, members, donors, stakeholders, and staff I have had the honor of leading and working alongside—thank you. On behalf of myself and my family, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve this mission, which I have experienced as both a calling and a ministry. I am forever grateful." – Larry Richardson Join us in thanking Larry for his years of service! Read more about his legacy here: https://lnkd.in/gMBpSbZS

Youth development in action! Students from the Arthur J. Glatfelter YMCA and City Center YMCA came together for an unforgettable trip to Washington, D.C., where they explored the National Museum of African American History and Culture. It was a great way to wrap up Black History Month while gaining a deeper understanding of history and its impact. We're so proud to see our Y Achievers and Temple Guard students exploring history and learning together. Experiences like this help shape future leaders! A special thank you to Bailey Coach for providing safe and comfortable transportation for the trip! To learn more about these programs, visit rosesymca.org/programs.
