  • Wednesday night was an inspiring and encouraging evening?? Our team attended the screening of the “Good Natured” documentary produced by?WEDU PBS?and?Ashley Stokes. We had the honor to be featured as an organization working towards climate solutions. The documentary covered topics such as coral reef restoration, eco-anxiety, indigenous wisdom, and the importance of conservation, and power of community efforts. It’s easy to be consumed by the bad news but this film inspired us to continue our efforts and to feel hopeful in knowing there’s many more people working on climate solutions. Together our efforts can make a big difference! It is a great production and we highly recommend it!!?????? You can watch it on the?WEDU PBS?YouTube channel or the WEDU website now, or on March 27th for the television premiere!

  • We are so grateful to everyone that has reached out in our social media and offered to volunteer! Right now, the property has around 20 trees down, and many branches dangling, it is not safe. We will definitely let you know when the property is safe to visit and volunteer to help us rebuild. In the meantime, you can help us raise funds to cover the damaged tree clearance and safety assessment, materials to rebuild the hoophouse, and more! We have created a GoFundMe page for this cause, link here: https://gofund.me/d41364e7 See images for damages at https://lnkd.in/eW3ad6DC

Today, we had the pleasure of working with the Santander Consumer USA's Odessa volunteer group as part of their #EarthDay activity ?? ! Thank you for coming every year! We performed different types of activities: 1. Reforestation on site: They planted cypresses by the lake with the goal of enriching the ecosystem around it. They also planted maples at the edge of the property to diversify the community of water and live oaks in that area. 2. Taking down the tipi: Tipis are intended for the weather in the Great Plains. Due to the upcoming season, where we will experience strong winds and storms, they helped us take down the tipi. 3. Cogongrass elimination: They weeded this invasive specie that we have been fighting for years now. Thank you for your help! We are open to and invite other companies to consider Rosebud Continuum for their volunteer hours ??! Contact us at [email protected] #corporatevolunteers

#latepost Last Thursday, Rosebud Continuum had the opportunity to participate in the Sustainability Partnership Expo and Fair hosted by University of South Florida Patel College of Global Sustainability. It was great to interact with current USF and USF-PCGS students who are soon to be the changemakers in the field. We shared about the sustainability projects and practices we have on site, and learning and growth opportunities they can find through research and internships at Rosebud. It was also inspiring to see the many other PCGS partners and the great sustainability projects and initiatives they are working on. #sustainability #usf #sustainabilityeducation #sustainabilitycareers

Last weekend, the?WEDU PBS?crew, led by producer?Ashley C. Stokes, came to our property to film part of their new documentary. It will be an "environmentally focused documentary touching on the interconnectedness?of all things and how this perspective can help us heal ourselves, our communities, and the earth." They will be mentioning organizations that contribute to this vision, "bringing community together, connecting with the earth, and?working towards a more eco-friendly, sustainable future." They believed Rosebud Continuum would be great to feature. At Rosebud, we have embraced and strive to guide our work by the Lakota saying "Mitákuye Oyás’i?," which means, 'We are all related'. We no longer want to consider plants and animals separate from us; we want to embrace them as part of our family. Everything we do has consequences that will directly or indirectly affect our relatives: other humans, plants, animals, and many other natural resources. The practices we try, research, and educate about at Rosebud seek to align us to this vision. #sustainability
