The Holiday Store is opening soon, and this year you can start your shopping for survivors and their families early through our Amazon gift list. . As Rose Brooks Center’s largest in-kind donation drive of the year, the Holiday Store allows the community to either drop off items or purchase through Amazon, to then be made available for the individuals finding safety at Rose Brooks Center. . All items are delivered to shelter where the adults "shop" for their children and the children get to pick out items for their moms or dads - all at no cost to them, of course. . The Kid Zone provides care and activities for children so parents can meet with clinicians, advocates or another supporter. Survivors can focus on getting the support they need and know their children are learning and playing safely. . When survivors and children come to Rose Brooks Center, it is often a time of high anxiety and fear. Although many say it is the first time they can exhale, it can also feel too big to handle at the time. . Pictured here is a book left behind by a family. “When I’m Feeling Scared,” helps children better understand their feelings. Throughout shelter you will also see signs of support to help both parent and child through a difficult transition. Therapy, small groups for children/teens, family pets allowed in private rooms, coffee/journaling meetings, and much more. .
