Dr. Elinor McGrath – One of the first women to earn a veterinary degree in the U.S. (1910), she defied skepticism to open her own clinic and pioneered small animal care. ?? Dr. Alfreda Webb – One of the first Black female veterinarians in the U.S. (1949), she co-founded Tuskegee’s College of Veterinary Medicine, paving the way for future Black vets. ?? Dr. Lila Miller – The 'Mother of Shelter Medicine,' she revolutionized shelter care and established it as a veterinary specialty, ensuring better treatment for homeless animals.
