Partnering with local student-run community gardens, Roots for the Home Team works directly with youth to cultivate their personal and professional growth - so they can take risks, learn more about their own capabilities, gain real-world business experience, and access opportunity. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Alongside local chefs our youths develop and prepare salad recipes with fresh, healthy produce, incorporating our youths’ own ideas, innovations, cultural traditions, and personal preferences. When everything’s ready for harvest, Roots for the Home Team is ready to tell our story, as we market and sell our creations to area consumers at baseball stadiums and grocery stores, including Minnesota Twins and Minnesota-based Kowalski’s Markets. Our program allows youths not only to gain culinary skills but business skills, sales, and marketing experience, courage, confidence, belief in themselves and a better understanding of who they are and what they care about.
