Today we teamed up with our community partners at Eastgate Charlotte to pack, pray over, and ship 7??4?? autism sensory toolboxes! Toolboxes are individually curated and sent across the U.S. to children newly diagnosed and stuck on lengthy therapy waitlists. Thanks to our volunteers and partners, 74 families will have resources to bridge the gap between diagnosis and therapy!! This work is great. But what makes it even better is collaborating with community partners who have a shared heart and vision. We are so grateful to do this work with other servant leaders. ?To God be the glory!? #autism #charlottenc #volunteer

We had a time at the Neurodiversity Pride Day event in Charlotte, NC! We met so many great families, shared stories of the autism journey, and learned about all of the great resources available in Charlotte for families. We also distributed 22 sensory toolkits to families of children across the autism spectrum! TY for the invitation @autismkidsnc ! We thrive when best through collaboration. On Sunday, May 19th, Rooted Hearts Ministries Inc hosted our first community event, inviting autistic children, their siblings, parents, and friends to a play date in a sensory-inclusive environment. When we first presented the idea to our friends at Romp n' Roll Northeast Charlotte, they immediately took to the idea and ran with it. Together, we leveraged our lessons learned and best practices and produced an environment of joy, fun, and most importantly, acceptance. We are grateful for our community partners at Romp n' Roll and look forward to more magic we can create in the near future. #communitypartners #autismacceptance #inclusive

On Saturday, May 11th, the Charlotte- area “Connecting Cities” volunteer group at UnitedHealthcare and Optum came together to pack and prepare over 60 autism sensory toolkits! Not only did they come to work, but they also donated all of the items! A special thank you to Travis Kaigler and Arinne N Hairston, B.S. PACS for championing our cause and sharing their generosity with those we serve. We are excited to distribute these sensory toolkits into the hands of families awaiting long therapy waitlists for their autistic children. #philanthropy #autism #autismresources #volunteer
