?? Attention Massachusetts Cannabis Operators! ?? On November 20, 2024, the Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) made a small but impactful change to section 500.105(13)(a) regarding transport procedures. The word "count" was added to the requirements: “500.105(13)(a)7. Prior to leaving a Marijuana Establishment for the purpose of transporting Marijuana Products, the originating Marijuana Establishment shall weigh or count, inventory, and account for, on video, all Marijuana Products to be transported.” What does this mean? The addition of "count" refers to counting the number of boxes being transported, ensuring it matches the box count and METRC tags on the manifest. This clarification was confirmed by a CCC investigator and aligns with efforts to improve accountability and accuracy in product transport. How to Stay Compliant: ??Ensure box counts are recorded on video before transport. ??Cross-reference box counts with the METRC manifest to avoid discrepancies. ??Historical weight sheets may no longer be necessary At Root & Bloom, we’ve already adjusted our processes to align with this rule change, ensuring seamless compliance. ??
