After calling the St. Petersburg RMHC in Tampa Bay home for several months, I was deeply impacted by the experience of receiving a free meal and a roof over our heads during a difficult time. ??????? There are so many that have had devastating effects from hurricane Helene. Here are a few pictures from our buildings- our quaint little office and our overnight manager’s living space. In devastation we see so much community support. Thank you for everyone across the southeast for helping each other out. Thank you to the most amazing staff, volunteers and board for coming together to prep our houses before the storm, ensure families were safe and banded together to clean up after an unprecedented storm surge. We have 3-4 months before our flooded spaces are ready again. Hurricane Helene Update: It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of significant damage to some of our properties, including our administrative offices and the house of one of our on-site managers who lives and raises her two children there. While we are immensely grateful that our three St. Pete houses were unharmed and have resumed operations, our Tampa House on Davis Islands is still in the recovery process, with hopes to resume operations early this week to continue to serve families. We are still assessing damages on our properties. In these challenging times, the strength and support of our community have been incredible.
