On 2/22/22 at exactly 2:22 PM, Teddy made his grand entrance into the world—five weeks early and already proving he was something special. Born at 35 weeks with Down syndrome, he needed a little extra support in those first days, so his family stayed close by his side at our Ronald McDonald Family Room inside Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Three years later, Teddy was all smiles as he returned to drop off donations he collected to support other families. Happy 3rd birthday, Teddy!

On a very cold day in 2015, we opened the doors to our third Ronald McDonald House and added 20 additional bedrooms to call home for families battling critical illness. On THIS very cold day 10 years later, we are so grateful for those that were part of the campaign to build the Wylie House. Please join us in celebrating the incredible impact it has had on families with sick children in its first decade. ?? #KeepingFamiliesClose

Baby Noah was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) and has already endured two open-heart surgeries in his short life. Through it all, his parents, Kate and Ryan, found comfort and support at the Ronald McDonald House inside Children's Mercy Kansas City, where they could rest, recharge and find meals during long days at the hospital. After 82 days inpatient and graduating from the CHAMP cardiac monitoring program, Noah is now 7 months old and thriving! The Schendels recently gave back by donating proceeds from a T-shirt fundraiser to help other families like theirs. “We felt like that money could go a long way in helping out. To have a bed, a place to shower, and a place to decompress was just incredible,” said Kate. Read the full story here https://bit.ly/4apFVvI

?? Today, KCMO City Council unanimously passed an ordinance allowing a public ballot on April 8 asking voters to approve our purchase of Longfellow Park. Nearly 700 families were turned away from our full Ronald McDonald Houses last year—a heartbreaking reality we’re determined to change with this purchase and expansion. Our plan is to add 40 more bedrooms to serve more families with sick children for years to come. Together, we can make a lasting impact on April 8! ?? Our Ronald McDonald House Board not only shows up for the important meetings, counsels us on strategic planning, makes sure we are fiscally sound and much, much more ... they also show up in our kitchens to make meals for families! This little guest, Rin, wanted to hop in the picture when the meal was complete. We are eternally grateful to ALL of our board members who show up for all the big and small moments. #KeepingFamiliesClose
